In the history of the rock, there have been many components that have traditionally contributed to making for good music. Now She's Gone posesses a record three of these traits: a chilly, industrial starting point (snowy Buffalo, NY); life long-friendships; and the kind of persistant suburban teenaged depression that does a creativity good! While the members (Joe: vocals & guitar, Kyle: guitar, Jeff: drums, Marek: Bass ) have known each other for most of their lives, a passion for music, youthful bravery, and dreams of road-ready, souped up EconoVan stylings motivated them to form a band a little over a year ago. Not so many weeks in the van later, they caught the eye of Fadeaway Records hepcats while opening for Pop Unknown in New York City, a jump which they like to think can be attributed to destiny. Citing musical influences as "anything with a dark groove, heart and soul," the boys were raised on equal parts Mineral, Portishead, and Bloodlet. Their self-titled EP reflects that same mixture of sad and pissed to the max, as the 6 earnest tracks are given a combative edge by the production of Steve Austin, frontman for Today is the Day, and producer of such circle-pit mainstays as Converge, Bane and Cave In. Their diverse sound is also reflected in the bands they've played with; in their short career, Now She's Gone have ripped it up along side the likes of The Get Up Kids, Far, Kill Holiday, Hot Rod Circuit, Elliot, Boy Sets Fire, and The Promise Ring. With the release of this EP as a new part of the Fadeaway Family, the boys can look forward to many more van-filled days, finely-honing their alphabet game, 3-on-1 heckling, and travel size Connect Four skills (pretty sneaky sis!), utilizing their most rocking elements to spread their sounds far beyond the reaches of hometown Buffalo.
